Thanksgiving

Once again I'm apologizing for not getting around to my blog... Between Christmas, work, house cleaning etc. the computer just doesn't fit into my schedule.. Thanksgiving was wonderful!! The trip to Virginia was inspiring.. I never got tired of driving through the mountains and the beautiful scenery. We stayed in a very nice condo and the kids had a great time horseback riding, swimming in the indoor waterpark and playing lots of football outside.. We actually celebrated Thanksgiving on Tuesday because a few guests were leaving early and then had a Mexican Fiesta on Thursday.. A little out of the ordinary but fun none the less.. Here are a few of our pics...

We're Back!!!

Sorry I've been gone for a couple of weeks.. Been very busy.. A group of us from work ran a 5k for "Race for the Cure" Breast Cancer Awareness.. We had a blast and it's always fun to get the same group together year after year.. Then last weekend my sister Donna, My cousin Marlene, My Mom and my daughter all went to Savannah for a small reunion of sorts. Donna, Marlene and Mom were all born there and we lived there for a year while my Dad was in Vietnam.. I named my daughter after the beautiful city where My Mom and I have shared many wonderful weekends and memories. We had lots of good laughs and went back to the house Mom was born in, all the places she played in as a child and just re-visited lots of memories.. Savannah loved it also and we have some great pictures to share...
Gotta go now! We have a busy week ahead of us packing, school, swine flu shots, etc. as we are heading to Virginia with Mom and Dad to spend Thanksgiving in Massanutton Resort with Danielle and her family. Hopefully Savannah will see snow (I hear they start making it that week) and we can go sledding...Will take lots of pictures.. Happy Birthday Courtney.. can't wait to see you guys at Christmas...

Hunter's Five

Sorry I've been missing for a while.. work has been hectic and we've had our share of swine flu.. I spend my day cleaning my area and spraying Lysol after everyone comes in coughing to tell me they have the swine flu and they need work for their sick students.. Have they heard of the phone? Anyway, it's been record heat here the last couple of weeks...95 every day with a heat index of 102... Yowser it's hot... We are expecting a cool front this weekend and we are looking forward to some 70's.. Maybe I can get some of my Halloween decos out.. Here are some pictures of Hunter turning 5.. He's too cute...

Happy Birthday Sis!!

Happy Birthday to the best big sis around! You've always been there for me through thick and thin.. I have nothing but wonderful memories of us as children, minus the poisoning and the tape down the middle of our room.. other than that I Know you've always had my best interest in mind. All kidding aside, I always know you're there for me to talk to and I wish we lived closer together. Maybe someday... Hope you had a great birthday, can't wait to see you in November.. Love you bunches.. Diane

Busy, Busy Weekend!

Well, Sam was telling us how hungry they all were up at college so we invited her and her room mate Nicole down for some real food. John and Savannah made some yummy home made raviolis and they ate until they couldn't move. Then I took them to Walmart and tried to give them some ideas about easy college meals and sent them back with some groceries and homemade chocolate chip cookies.. Think they will be set for a couple of weeks anyway. Glad Sam lucked out and got such a funny and sweet roommate. Come back soon girls..
Mom and Dad went to Doug's "Pinning Celebration" on Saturday.. He is now a Chief Petty Officer in the reserves. We are all very proud. Savannah was a little under the weather this weekend but it's only a sore throat and cold.. Swine flu is running rampant at the school so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that we dodge that bullet...
Short week this week as the kids have Friday off.. I think I'll take the day off too and maybe have some fun at Sea World...wish it would cool off though!!!

Happy Birthday to Me!!

Well another memorable year has passed!! "50" wasn't so bad after all.. Last year was a wonderful year with my husband John, daughters Sammy and Savannah and all of my beautiful friends and family. I know that I'm truly blessed and thank God everyday when I wake up and realize that I've been given another chance to be a blessing to someone or to make their day with a smile. I have a saying over my computer that goes like this "Twenty years from now your students won't remember what you taught them but they will remember how you made them feel". So I try always to greet all the kids I meet during the day with a smile or a compliment.. hopefully it will make their day. I had a nice day today with flowers from my hubby, shoes from my daughter, balloons and cheesecake from my friends at work and a gorgeous card from my great niece Ava and great nephew Lincoln. It was my absolutely most favorite card this year and I will treasure it. Thanks guys.

First Day of School

Well it finally arrived.. that dreaded first day of school... Savannah is always anxious about it but also a little bit excited..Years ago when she started kindergarten, she was soooo nervous that I decided I had to make it a little more exciting and less scary so we started having ice cream sundaes on the first day of school. It is as much fun today as it was then. I'm all about healthy breakfasts but it is only 13 days out of a lifetime..when you put it in that perspective it's not so bad...We also got to drive to school in style this morning.. John and I decided I needed a little bit larger car as my little Nissan was so small and uncomfortable if we had to go very far so we found a GREAT deal on a Saturn Vue... Savannah will be ready to take it for a spin in two more years....AAAAHHHHHHH!!!!

Ice cream anyone?

One birdie out of the nest....

Sammie has officially gone off to college. We talked with her today and she is all settled into her new apartment. She likes her new room mates and will start classes on Monday. Don't forget to set that alarm Sam!!! We miss you already...We decided to do family pictures before Sam left so I've included a couple of those. My beautiful girls...Savannah would like to do some modeling with these people so we will see how that goes. Could always put the money away for college I guess! Sammy did some modeling for a few years and had a bit of a nest egg too. Well summer is officially over and Savannah starts back to school on Monday. I've been at work all week and I have to say it's taking some getting use too... I miss my 4 mile walks in the morning and my Ellen in the afternoon. Such is life...

WE HAVE A TEENAGER IN THE HOUSE....

Sorry I've been slack in my blogging... Savannah crashed the computer about a week or so ago and we just got it running again.. I think she learned her lesson.. it was a LONG WEEK....We finished Savannah's room, went to Sea World and then Blue Springs for her birthday.. Enclosed are a few pictures.. I still don't know where the time goes.. I can remember the day she was born like it was yesterday and then wishing she would sit up, and crawl, and talk to me and walk and "poof" just like that, she was "13". She told me the other day she was growing up too fast and she missed being little... Me too!! I miss playing Polly Pockets all day on Saturday, dress up and the tea parties... Not that we don't have plenty of good times at the mall checking out the cute boys, shopping, playing in the make up and eating lots of cookie dough when we get depressed...it's just different...I'm glad she still likes to sit on my lap once in a while and cuddle..
I go back to work tomorrow and must kiss my summer good bye for another year.. It was a great one... Grammie is doing very well, healed up nicely and doesn't have to have any thing done to her nose. On a sad note, her sister Gloria passed away on Saturday morning. She was a wonderful person. What I remember most about her was how soft spoken she was all the time, how she loved being a nurse and helping people, how she loved babies and animals... I was born on her birthday so we always shared a special bond.. She will be missed...

Sad, Savannah after crashing computer.

Grammie is on the mend!!!

We were at Grammies yesterday for Hailee's 14 birthday and Grammie is starting to look much better.. She had a bit of a mishap last week when she slipped by the pool on the wet tile. She came down like a ton of bricks right on her face. She suffered a broken nose, split lip, and a badly sprained arm. She looks like Muhammad Ali after a loss but her lips look a bit like Angelina Jolie without having to pay for the cosmetic surgery. All laughing aside, she is feeling much better and the bruising is going away. Once the stitches dissolve her her lips, she will be much happier. Going to the nose surgeon today to see if anything else has to be done.

What are friends for?

Just a funny little story to share because everytime I think of it I smile... As we were dashing to the airport so Courtney could make her flight last Wednesday, we were doing about 70 mph on I-4 when from the back seat Savannah says "Mom, there's a spider over your head!" and my sweet, one of a kind niece, Courtney says "Woah, that's HUGE!!!" Enough said......

Things have settled down a little bit now as we are home again and settled back into a routine.. finishing up Savannah's room AGAIN...yes I can't help it, I'm an HGTV addict and I want to be Candace Olsen from Divine Design in my next life. Will take pictures of it shortly to show it off. Doing some school shopping to get Savannah ready as she has been on a bit of a growing spurt this summer... Other than that I need to settle down and get my photo albums up to date.

Hot, Hot, Hot

Well we survived three days in the scorching heat at the Disney Parks...boy was it hot and crowded but good times were had by all...It was so good to spend time with David and Jocelyn not to mention all the Fescoes.. It's fun to see Disney through the eyes of children that have never been and I think Chad and Jocelyn had a memorable time...Will have to try that again some time in the winter when it's quiet there. Here are some of the fun pictures...

Summer Vacation

Well here I am finally trying to relearn the blogging thing while I have my tutor Courtney to help me with the ins and outs of blogging.. Most of the Fescoe clan are here along with my brother David and his daughter Jocelyn from Texas. We are planning to introduce Chad and Jocelyn to Mickey for the first time over the next three days... Will hopefully be able to download some pictures when we get back. We have all the grandkids together again except for Chris and Kyle... maybe next year...

Goofing around with the Web Cam...

February 18th, 2009

Well, I'm trying to get myself more organized with this blogging thing.. I check everyone elses every couple of days to see whats going on and look at pictures..It keeps me connected..Work has been rather stressful lately..They've made so many cut backs that we are all just lucky we have a job these days. There is no money for anything else and the parents love to give me their point of view every chance they get. I just agree with them and try to get them to the right department ASAP. The flu has been rampant around here.. Know Mom and Dad had a bout with it up in NC and it's gone through everyone's house around here also.. John and I are the sole survivors I believe at this time... Started to redo Savannah's room once again... what can I say? I'm a frustrated decorator at heart and love to try new things.. One minute we are thinking of selling the house and trying to get out of this neighborhood..(there are no kids for Savannah to play with) and then the next, I think I have everything just the way I want it... maybe we will just put the sign in the yard and see what happens... Guess that's all the news for now...I'll get Savannah to import some new pictures soon.. Love ya...
